During the tour, you'll visit meliponiculture projects dedicated to the breeding and conservation of native stingless bees (Melipona bees), essential pollinators of the Amazon rainforest. Local hosts explain the bees' life cycle, traditional and modern beekeeping techniques, and the production of honey, propolis, and cerumen, while highlighting their ecological and cultural importance to Amazonian communities. Visitors can explore the bee habitats, watch demonstrations of the honey harvesting process, and taste the locally produced honey, renowned for its nutritional and medicinal properties.
